Client:
Birmingham City Council
Project completed:
July 2003
Project description:
The main purpose of the consultancy was to develop a forward plan detailing
a future strategy for developing and co-ordinating provision of employment
support to homeless people in Birmingham and Solihull.
The research involved:
Identifying the employment support needs of homeless people in Birmingham
Investigating methods for involving homeless service users in the planning
and delivery of employment support services
Identifying future funding opportunities for both maintaining the ongoing
work of the new partnership and developing new initiatives in employment
support for homeless people
Developing proposals for a partnership 'model' for the planning and
delivery of employment support services for homeless people
Carrying through a consultation process involving key strategic and
voluntary sector partners in order to develop a consensus on both the
partnership approach and methods of operation. This was achieved through
a strategic partnership approach, involving key agencies in the public
and voluntary and community sectors
